    • Fannie Mae (FNMA) - The nation's largest purchaser of home loans on the secondary market.
    • Freddie Mac (FHLMC) - The nation's second largest purchaser of home loans on the secondary market.
    • Ginnie Mae - HUD owned company that guarantees the securities (MBS) issued from insured VA and FHA loans.
    • Indy Mac - Closed by the Fed in July 2008.  Once one of the nations largets home lenders. Now OneWest Bank.
    • HUD - A massive government agency made of FHA, VA, Fair Housing, Equal Employment.
    • FHA - Largest government mortgage insurer for approved lenders. Gives lenders protection from defaulted loans.

    • US Dept. of HUD - A national quarterly report on Production, Market, Finance, Investment and Inventory conditions.
    • US Census Bureau - Tracks indicators such as Durable Goods, Retail Sales, Trade Balance, Inventories, etc.
    • NAHB - Builders' forcast and outlooks on Remodeling, Multi-family, Starts,etc. Various other indexes and suveys.
    • Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) - Tracks the House Price Index (HPI) by region, state and city.
    • S&P / Case-Shiller - Indices measuring changes in the value of residential real estate in 20 regions across the US.
